Bangalore or Ban-Galore?

The future generation will soon figure out why the city is called "Bangalore" (It used to be Bangalore, now it's Bengaluru and soon it'll be renamed as Ban-Galore!). Well, Bangalore is not just the Garden City anymore, it's the city of bans. Bans ranging from bans on live music, to bans on pubbing after 11pm, and now the national blanket ban on smoking and what not!!
Bangalore (or Bengaluru as it is now) has changed over the years, from the small, quiet beautiful green town to the new IT Hub of India- the bustling, happening city, with traffic that can beat the population count of some countries!
With all this change, more and more bans are getting implemented in the city. I guess the goverment has hired paid staff to look at all possible things that they can ban, and implement them!
Why all the curbs when people can decide what's good for them themselves? I don't think anyone likes someone else making their decisions for them.
Please feel free to share your thoughts on this! No bans here...yet! :-)
